U.S.A. v. John Doe, (D.C. Pa) - A former CEO and President of a Corporation was charged in a $41 million dollar “Pump and Dump” securities fraud scheme. Following his guilty plea, the defendant was facing 8-10 years imprisonment. Ms. Lefeber successfully argued changes in the law, the disparate impact of the sentencing guidelines upon codefendants’ plea agreements and sentences and other mitigating factors involving the defendant’s extraordinary charitable activities throughout his lifetime to convince the Court to reduce the sentence to 5 years’ PROBATION.
