Drug Conspiracy Defendant Facing 10 Years Imprisonment, Sentence: 15 Months Imprisonment

U.S.A. v. Jane Doe, Crim. No. XXX (D.C. Pa) – Federal agents executed a search warrant at the home of the defendant and her husband and found over 1 kilogram of pure fentanyl, fillers, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of cash. The defendant was charged with drug conspiracy and possession and was facing 10 years’ imprisonment. Following a guilty plea, Ms. Lefeber successfully argued complex factual and legal sentencing issues relating to the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines for mitigating and minor role adjustments, the psychological effect of domestic abuse and its relationship to intent, proposed changes to the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines for minor role adjustments, the automatic application of the firearms enhancements and mitigation for medical issues. As a result, the defendant received a sentence of 15 MONTHS’ IMPRISONMENT.
