U.S.A. v. Shapiro, Crim. No. 24-365 (D.C. Pa) -The defendant, an accountant and C.P.A., was charged in a six-count Information with filing fraudulent tax returns on behalf of his clients, claiming false refunds and also filing false claims for Pennsylvania Unemployment Assistance, in the total amount of approximately $400,000. Ms. Lefeber was able to highlight his extraordinary acceptance of responsibility as well as his unique medical issues at sentencing.

The Court considered all of these mitigating factors and imposed a sentence of PROBATION.
